Espen at 1.2!

It came.  Yesterday.  And I’m not quite sure when I will take it off the body of my camera.  The 851.2L II.  Amazing.  Stunned by the bokeh (I’ll give a free 5×7 of any of my nature prints to the first person to leave a comment that gives a satisfactory description of what bokeh even means, for real).  Cherice (my loving wife) told me that the blur in the images I am now getting is what she actually sees when she removes her contacts at night, except her focal range ends around 5-6 inches from the tip of her nose.  Anyways…wow.  You’ll be seeing more up for sure.

And thanks for the support so far for the trip, it’s definitely an encouragement! Peace.

admin - I can tell that some definite creativity was used here, Bren, but you hit it on the head. Sorry Alisa, but I have a feeling I might do this again at some point in the future, so stayed tuned! Congrats Bren, let me know which image you’d like and I’ll get it in the mail.

alisa - curses! i got beat.

though i think it’s supposed to be derived from the japanese word for “fuzzy.”

it’s also a village in iran.

wikipedia for the win! or, in the case, the loss. either way…

Bren - bokeh |bōˈkā|
noun
1. Pipe used with “tobacco products”
2. The stuff you can’t see in a photograph because the lens made it all blurry. Inexplicably, some people pay good money to make their cameras do this.
Unsurprisingly, bokeh is derived from the Japanese word for fool

(one of these definitions might be cleverly concocted by me)
