a window to who you are… » Oregon Wedding Photographers Coalition - [...] I love doing ring shots.  Period.  I think what really captures me about photographing them is the chance to tell the story of the day, pulling in details that are specific to the wedding.  The below photo is such an example.  The couple had two huge fire pits blazing where their guests could roast marshmallows.  Before anyone could grab the below stick and use it I pulled it in for a shot of the rings.  Not only does it tell the story of the day, but it truly reflects the couple and their love for enjoying the outdoors.  If you would like to see the rest of their wedding you can check it out HERE.  [...]

Sarai - oh, ok. Here’s another stab at it–going top down. My votes go as follows:
1) 100mm
2) 85mm
3) 16-35mm
4) 50mm
5) 24-70mm

February 11, 2009 - 1:42 am

alisa - okay, after assigning each photo a number and then calling out a lense while rolling a die it goes (from the top down): 100mm; 16-35mm; 70-200mm; 85mm; 50mm; 24-70mm.

February 9, 2009 - 2:12 am

Bryan Rupp - Starting from the bottom up I think it goes, 100mm, 24-70mm, 16-35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 70-200mm.

February 8, 2009 - 8:38 pm

Joel - Sorry, just to clarify, each picture is taken with a different lens. Whoever can match the most correct photos with the right lens (each photo is from a different lens) is what I’m aiming at. Sorry, and thanks for helping me clarify, Sarai!

February 8, 2009 - 8:33 pm

Sarai - I’m going to take a guess at the 24-70mm, not for any educated reason… just because that’s my guess. :)

February 23, 2009 - 10:24 pm

Results… | peace.photo.bock - [...] I have results in for the earlier pop quiz in my Geekin’ out post.  We actually had a tie between Sarai and Bryan, and as I think Bryan has won in the past [...]

Leah Rupp - Joel, these are awesome pictures that tell a lot of stories. Are you sure you don’t have a secret life that we all don’t know about as a top secret photo journalist? :)

Someone had a birthday…

Above: one happy birthday boy!  Below: all the party kids on the futon. Above: helping himself to seconds, or thirds…can’t quite remember.  Below: a cool idea by my amazing wife. The post-party experience can require lying down on the rug and staring up at the streamers.
