Trekking west: an initial snapshot
Wow. It has been some time since I’ve checked in here. We just arrived on Monday back into the beautiful NW, but we made a quick stop during our mad dash across the states in Jackson, Wyoming. Due to fatigue from driving so much I only made it up for one sunrise, but it was worth it. With nature photography there is really only one other constant time for great light, and that is sunset. Unfortunately in the Tetons’ case this meant backlighting the mountains, causing ridiculous lighting hardships. Needless to say, this morning was beautiful. Here was the first place I stopped that I had been eyeing every time we drove from Jackson to Teton park. It’s a waterway within an Elk reserve, and I was always drawn to the reflection. This morning the sunrise seemed to be sewn onto the surface of the water, and I found the car almost pulling over on its own accord. I promise more photos as the boxes slowly unpack, and for those of you waiting for your photos rest assured that next week is devoted entirely to you! Thanks for your patience, and I’m excited to show some more photos from our trip and my last East coast sessions shortly!
