I had a blast earlier this summer hitting the Oregon Coast above Pacific City for a beach wedding with Matt & Brittany. It was a perfect day to be on the coast, let alone get married on the coast! As you can see from the photos it was a lot of fun. Thanks again Matt & Brittany for letting me capture your wedding!

Yes, I know this is ridiculously late! But after driving back from an engagement session just outside of Canon Beach tonight I couldn’t help but put some images up to end the dry spell of posts! First off, I can’t wait to shoot Sarah & Alfredo’s wedding later this year, as it was a blast photographing them laughing and being themselves in the AMAZING light/location! Following is a shot I took on my way home looking out across the bay by Wheeler. What an epic night!

In my spare time (i.e., 4:30am in the morning!) I like to get outdoors. Today I traveled with my friend, Bryan Rupp to the Wilson River for some fly fishing. It was an amazing morning, with perfectly overcast conditions, complete with Brook Trout. Here’s Bryan letting loose on the river.

When weather decides to cut you slack on a wedding day you are always grateful, and this was one of those days. When we arrived at the Abernethy Center to shoot Nathan & Bethany’s wedding it had been raining all morning. Despite the rain Bethany was ready to go out and have fun getting some photos, and before we could even set foot outside the sun started to break through! Here’s the result of the day, which we are very grateful to have been a part of. Thanks Bethany & Nathan for having us photograph this part of your journey, and blessings on the years to come!

Coming later this week, Bethany & Nathan’s wedding at the Veiled Garden! It was a perfect break in the weather for their beautiful wedding. Here’s one of the newly weds until the full post…

…on a more technical note (for the photo geeks out there!) I have to say that my Canon 24 1.4L has been the go-to lens! This shot is a prime example of why I love it. No post-process vignette, sharpening, color or contrast corrections. While the Canon 85 1.2L has the impressionistic bokeh I have come to love, the 24mm has a way of taking a wide angle perspective and giving it a shallow depth of field at 1.4 that is unique, beautiful, and at times unanticipated for this wide of a shot. You might even go rent one to try for yourself at Pro Photo Supply (if you’re local to Portland). But enough with the shop talk…

Although there was SO much more that happened at Twin Rocks Friends Camp’s Party at the Parkway, we had a blast opening up our photo riot! booth for some stellar fun. There will be more photos from the event posting this week, so stay tuned! For now, here are some of the photos that myself and the amazing Cherice snapped. You’ll also note the funky clothing, an addition brought by the Trunks of Funk, some chests full of clothing I donated to the camp a few years ago that seem to have taken on a life of their own!
