In my spare time (i.e., 4:30am in the morning!) I like to get outdoors. Today I traveled with my friend, Bryan Rupp to the Wilson River for some fly fishing. It was an amazing morning, with perfectly overcast conditions, complete with Brook Trout. Here’s Bryan letting loose on the river.

Coming later this week, Bethany & Nathan’s wedding at the Veiled Garden! It was a perfect break in the weather for their beautiful wedding. Here’s one of the newly weds until the full post…

…on a more technical note (for the photo geeks out there!) I have to say that my Canon 24 1.4L has been the go-to lens! This shot is a prime example of why I love it. No post-process vignette, sharpening, color or contrast corrections. While the Canon 85 1.2L has the impressionistic bokeh I have come to love, the 24mm has a way of taking a wide angle perspective and giving it a shallow depth of field at 1.4 that is unique, beautiful, and at times unanticipated for this wide of a shot. You might even go rent one to try for yourself at Pro Photo Supply (if you’re local to Portland). But enough with the shop talk…

party at the parkway: photo riot!

Although there was SO much more that happened at Twin Rocks Friends Camp’s Party at the Parkway, we had a blast opening up our photo riot! booth for some stellar fun. There will be more photos from the event posting this week, so stay tuned! For now, here are some of the photos that myself and the amazing Cherice snapped. You’ll also note the funky clothing, an addition brought by the Trunks of Funk, some chests full of clothing I donated to the camp a few years ago that seem to have taken on a life of their own! All I can say is that the location was amazing, and the family (and good friends!) were way too much to photograph! We hit Five Rock Ranch for some Sunday afternoon Mother’s Day photos, and what ensued was a lot of laughter and snapshots. It’s always fun to see families enjoying one another, which was very self evident for these folks. Happy Mother’s Day Lois, and thanks for letting us capture your beautiful family! Get ready for A LOT of photos…

That’s right! We officially kicked off our photo riot booth at Twin Rocks Friends Camp this last weekend for a fundraiser we were shooting. And it was a riot!
