Back in the summer (how is it already November!?!) I hit the beach to shoot some photos for a friend of mine and her family. It was great to see them and take their photos, especially as the first location was a camp we grew up at: Twin Rocks Friends Camp. Despite some colder weather the overcast skies made for that perfect mid day diffusion that can make or break a day shoot, and we had a great time running around, throwing children in the air (see below), and enjoying the amazing Oregon Coast.

Following their stellar engagement session, I was stoked for the upcoming wedding. We began down by the water in Portland at the Avalon Hotel (which was amazing!), and then hit the Abernethy Center for the rest of the day. With help from the brilliant Amanda Clark of Champagne NW the day went amazingly smoothly, and the details were spot on (thanks Amanda!). We couldn’t have ordered better weather, especially on Labor Day Weekend in Portland! And as expected, the wedding was amazing, complete with laughter and smiles. Sarah & Alfredo, we are so honored to have been your photographers. Thanks so much.

janell & sean: oregon wedding

This wedding took place on a private residence in the country, and it was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. It turned out Sean & Janell (who already had some of their Photo Riot photos up HERE) knew some of my friends from around Portland, so we had a fun day of not only shooting photos but saying hi to people I hadn’t seen in a while. We spent a great evening at the beach with our good friends, the Macy family. We got a few formal shots in, but mostly they all just had fun playing together, which makes for fun and really natural pictures. Thanks, Macys, for a great time hanging out! You made it easy to take great pics.

We had a great time shooting Lori & Greg’s wedding photos a while back. You might remember them from their engagement shoot. The wedding was on a gorgeous summer day–the kind we’re wishing for about now!

Lori & Greg have an obvious love for each other and their families, so it was fun to capture pictures of people enjoying one another and this special occasion. Congratulations, Lori & Greg, and thanks for having us do your photos.

a league of their own: wedding parties with style

That’s right, this was strictly A League of Their Own! Grace and Jared decided it would be fun to have a softball game 2 days before their wedding, and they went all out. I have to say that the uniforms were stellar, and I can’t even begin to count the number of times people passing by the game would ask me who these people were, and I’d just say “it’s a wedding party!” And the game was fun to watch, too. Grace used to play pro ball, and so did a couple other of the gals on the team, so there weren’t too many dull moments! Not to mention when someone nailed the Porsche who had decided to park in a random parking spot right behind a baseball diamond. Really smart parking job. So, here are some photos to show you the players and the action, enjoy!
